Christianna Killian Barringer is the 11th child in the last will and testament of Andreas Killian. She was born February 20, 1755 on Killian’s Creek, Lincoln County, NC. Her husband John Barringer is named in Andreas’ Will.
We believe they married between 1773 and 1775. The Barringer family is rich in history. Christianna’s father-in-law was Johann Paulus Behringer, the pioneer who arrived in America, September 30, 1743, aboard the ship Phoenix. He went by the name Paul but is often referred to as John Paul. Christianna’s husband, John, is often referred to as John Senior. Christianna’s son is often referred to as John Junior.
Christianna’s father-in-law was a devout Lutheran and played a major role in the history of the St. John’s Lutheran Church of Concord, NC. This church has very strong ties to the Barringers and is where Christianna is buried.
John and Christianna lived in Mecklenburg County, NC, until 1792 when the land they lived on became Cabarrus County. John served as Captain in the Revolutionary Army.

Jacob Barringer (born July 08, 1784, married Sarah Baust/Bost)
Elizabeth “Betsey” Barringer (born October 18, 1780, married John Peck)
Mary “Polly” Barringer (born about 1788, married James Lee)
Daniel Barringer (born June 14, 1790, married Mary “Pollly” Cress)
Sarah Barringer (born January 10, 1797/1798, married Jacob House)
